I really want to learn how to play the guitar. I play the piano, but I’ve always had a yearning for the guitar. Would it be okay to buy one from ebay? I don’t have a lot of money to spend (and my neighbor would be able to teach me the basics so lessons aren’t a problem.)

I am planning on buying my first guitar but I need help in what to look for. I have no idea what to look for because I have never played a guitar. I talked to someone and they are going to let me try out a Yahama guitar but I don’t know what Im suppoed to try out lol. Helppp!

So I have a guitar and I need some buying help?
My guitar is a Harmony Acoustic and it’s 34.5″ full body.
1)Here’s the deal I need a tuning cap at the top so how much do you think it would it cost? The thing snapped off entirely.
2)I need new strings and I want a more acoustic rock/alternative sound (think ‘Hey There Delilah’ Plain White T’s) So is it steel or nylon? How much would that cost?
And no I don’t want a new guitar, if I could afford it I would have bought one by now.
