Go to the guitar shop and try them out. The individual effects pedal have the advantage of being able to be put together in different combinations. Also, if one effect goes out, you can just replace that one pedal. The multi effect pedals often give you more choices and combinations, but it’s all or nothing as far as dependability. Another nice thing about the multi effects processor is the fact that you usually get a certain amount of presets. That can be a real time saver, and if you want to get several different distinct sounds, those presets really come in handy.

It really depends on what kind of sounds you are looking to get. If you are traveling alot and setting up and tearing down nightly, a multi effects unit is a godsend. Before you buy one try many out to find the tones you personally are looking for. Good luck.
