What Are The “need To Knows” When Buying A Guitar?

I want to learn how to play the guitar and am looking into buying one. I’m not sure what is considered good or bad. I don’t want to spend a lot of money, but it would help to know the basics of what I need.

Getting a guitar is very exciting but you are right you need to make sure that it is the right one for you. The guitar deal in the link that you have provided is quite a good one but there can be some cons:
You need to make sure that the guitar has the right feel and elegance that you want.
Another big thing which disappoints my friends a lot is when they thought they had the right guitar because it looked really cool, but they never took the sound into account and 1 of them hated there guitar so much that they trashed it.

If you’ve never played before, and just starting to learn, I suggest you buy a classical guitar, that’s got nylon strings. And get one of the softest picks they’ve got. You can buy a decent Suzuki for about $100.
uh… well u should know if u goin play solo most of the time or calmer music(probably get an accoustinc) or with a band or harder rock music (get an electric) you should get a good amp… maybe a tuner… and ya thats my advice

Do you have long fingers, or are your hands kinda small? My hand is too small for the neck of my guitar so I can’t play the notes. Something to consider…
