I’ve noticed that ‘squires’ always get good reviews in the guitar mags even they are fairly low priced. I Think Squire is fenders budget line.
Be considerate of the types of Pick-ups it has. Depending on the sound you are going for, different pickups produce different results. Single Coil pickups usually give kind of a glassy tone, while humbuckers give a fat, punchy tone. Also the type of wood. Mahogany gives kind of a dark tone while maple gives a brighter tone. Play some guitars. See which one feels good to you. I don’t know what style of music you will be playing but Fender and Epiphone make decent budget guitars that can be used for most styles, like the Stratocaster and the Les Paul. But guitars are a matter of personal preference. It all depends on what feels and sounds good to you. Hope this helps.
Okay if your a beginner dont get anything too expensive get a guitar such as a davison… davison was my first ever guitar brand, after I learn guitar I got a Les Paul and then got a Ibanez RG5EX1. Davison guitars are cheap, because theyre VERY beginner like.
Do a lot of research. Gibson is best, Les Paul or SG. If you can order it online you might get it cheaper. Sounds like you are in the UK. Go to a shop and look around. You might be better off to get a second hand one and save a ton of money doing so.
