I don’t care for those package deals, their not the best guitars, you get the guitar, amp, books, and tons of little things all for about $200.00. Someone in my family bought one of these and believe me it was one of the worst guitars that I’ve ever heard or played, the strings were so high off of the finger board that I couldn’t play it for more than five minutes without horrible pain !!!!!!! My advice to you would be to go to a reputable guitar store and tell the clerk what your budget is and then ask him what are the best guitars in that range and then sit down and play them….You be the judge, listen and see which one has the sound that your looking for. To me buying a guitar is a thing that should be done in person….not from the Internet….you have to make sure that the action and sound is the best that you can get for your budget, I would do the same with an amp, buy them both at the same time, so that you know what the guitar sounds like with the amp !!!!!!!!
hey whats up? For good starter amps check out websites like http://www.musiciansfriend.com and http://www.samash.com. OK now amps: I have a Peavey and it gets the job done!
Look at the Fender Squier “Vintage Modified” Precision or Jazz. $250 or $280. Behringer BXL900 amp $180. Way better than any “package” deal. http://www.musiciansfriend.com
Fender make a good combo, Bass & Amp for roughly $200-250.
It’s a good start and a good buy. Some complain that they have bought combos like that in the past, and considered it garbage.
Tell you what !!! They considered it garbage BECAUSE THEY COULDN’T PLAY. Period.
I teach my student with similar equipment and it gets the job done.
Once you know how to play decently, your ear will tell you to move on to another level.
Peavey max158 around 99.99 for the amp
SHOP LOCAL NOT A CAHIN STORE
