The Guitar should be easy to learn and easy to play for someone relatively new to guitar.

I tell all my students just starting out to go with the acoustic Yamaha, the Guitar Center has one for $200.00. and even less on sale…the clerks are very good at giving you a deal so if it’s not on sale ask for a deal. If had a very nice sound for an inexpensive gutiar….I can’t see spending a lot of money on something that your not even sure that you have a talent for or are able to be patient enough to put the time and energy into the study that guitar requires. The guitar is not an easy instrument to play….maybe if you only wnat to learn a few chords and just strum….you may not find it difficult. Once you get started you’ll see what I’m talking about, there are notes to learn, chords to learn how to not only make but to do this smoothly and with ease, scales, learning the different keys, and all about the sharps and flats…. fingers and muscels to train, and callouses to obtain on your fingertips, (which could take months) I had to laugh when you said the guitar should be easy to learn and play….not only all that I mentioned above but wait until you try to make barre chords….then tell me it’s easy !!!! Well good luck to you, here are some sites that may help you to get started….stay away from the free sites, I’ll give you a few at the end but there not very complete…you get what you pay for…and if you pay nothing, you get nothing. Some of the sites that I’m going to give you have some free introduction lessons, free electronic tuners, charts that tell you where all the notes on the guitar are, there’s one that you can name a chord on the right side and on the left it shows you how on a fingerboard to make this chord. Most of these sites want you to take their online lessons,or buy their CD’s, Video’s, DVD’s, and books, but to me there worth it….I wish that they had these when I first started….once you buy a cd or dvd, or video you can watch them over and over again, it may cost but it’s not as expensive as private lessons, or lessons in a music store….I think having private lessons are the best way to go but most people can’t afford them, so as far as I’m concerned this is the next best thing. !!!!!!!http://www.guitarchordsmagic.com/http://www.billbrutal.com/http://www.justingutiar.com/http://www.learn-to-play-guitar-online.i…http://www.8notes.com/ (free electronic tuner on homepage, and a lot of interesting things for guitarist on this site, look at the place where it says how to make chords)http://www.worldguitar.com/http://www.guitartutoronline.com/http://www.learnplayguitar.net/http://www.absolutelyunderstandguitar.co…http://www.chordfind.com/http://www.infiniteguitar.com/http://www.stringdancer.com/http://www.fretplay.com/
Something here should get you started…hope this helped !

I’ve been playing guitar for almost 12 years now, and from experience, I can tell you that not just any guitar will do. As for which brand you want, well that all depends on what kind of music you play, really. I strongly believe in buying a cheap-o first, then as you become a more talented player, buying the more expensive stuff, like a $1,500 Les Paul. But if you’re into metal, you might want to try a Jackson, ESP, Gibson (which can get pretty expensive,) or Ibanez. If you’re into country or jazz, you’ll probably want a Fender, or something like that. Don’t get discouraged learning guitar, I taught myself with the help of some of my dad’s 35 year old chord books, lol. The important thing is to have fun. Learn to read tablature (it’s easy) then learn your favorite songs, after you’ve learned so many songs, then you’ll start making up your own stuff and that’s where it really gets fun. I stopped learning other bands stuff and started writing and recording my own stuff and let me tell you, that is the most gratifying thing I’ve ever done (besides getting married to the woman of my dreams, lol.) And lastly, get to know other people who play, I really didn’t start progressing as a guitarist until I started hanging out with other guitarists, I learned from them and it helped out a bunch. I hope this helps, I wish you luck.
