Does Anyone Have Information About Buying A Guitar For An 8 Year Old?

My nephew is 8 and is interested in learning to play guitar. Is there a certain size or online store that would carry such an instrument? He is a beginner, so I would be looking for something not too expensive. Thank You.

Well, depends on what he plays.

i got that jr size guitar made by Dean for my wife. it was a total piece of crap. sent it back to musiciansfriend that same day. (moral: junior sizes are not always good quality.)
My buddy got a Ibanez Talman guitar in college…http://www.music123.com/Ibanez-Talman-TC…
don’t think it was this same model, but this is one of the cheaper ones. i played it a lot. very light and feels slightly smaller around the guitar body causing it to be comfortable to play.
i know the boy’s small, but i’d advise against a small size guitar. i just don’t think there’s quality workmanship in them.
he may be small for a regular guitar now, but he is still growing.
any guitar under $150 sounds cheap to me.
